Participate! Send in two pics of Harmonious Opposites
Salt Lake Art Center is asking you (as well as your friends, family, and neighbors) to submit two digital photographs that represent “a harmonious marriage of opposites” –a theme featured in our exhibition Honeymoon. If your submission is selected by our curators, it will be added to a unique and growing installation of photographs from around the nation that will be exhibited in the Art Center North Gallery until January 8th, 2011. Anyone can participate, young or old, alone or together, creatively or literally.
Please submit two images that respond to the question “What does ‘a harmonious marriage of opposites’ look like to you?” Email to: opposites@slartcenter.org
Honeymoon features the work of two internationally-recognized Los Angeles painters, Kristin Calabrese and Joshua Aster who have recently married each other. The exhibition exemplifies a harmonious marriage of opposites, as Calabrese’s paintings are virtuosic examples of illusionistic, figurative painting while Aster’s works are playful explorations of abstraction. Together, their work gives the visitor an opportunity to explore the stylistic differences and shared concerns of these two great artists.
Entries will be accepted through December 31st.
Photos must not exceed 2MB each, and submission of images grants the Art Center a non-exclusive license in perpetuity to use said images in furtherance of the Art Center’s charitable purposes.
Only the first 100 selected entries will be displayed so make sure to send in your entries ASAP! If you do not receive email confirmation of your submission, it has not been received and files may be too large.
